Responds to maintenance and repair service requests, carries out preventive maintenance tasks, prepares apartments for
turnovers. Maintenance Technician ensures safety and functionality of the property’s buildings and equipment and
ensures optimal service is provided to our customers. A solution-oriented professional who excels in a fast-paced environment. This role demands superior customer service and unwavering follow through.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Responsible for mechanical inspection, diagnosis and repairs for both occupied and vacant apartment units
- Performs appliance repairs
- HVAC installation and repair
- Plumbing installation and repair
- General handyman repairs
- Report physical deficiencies of properties to Director of Maintenance
- Snow removal and ice prevention during winter months
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Continuous bending, crouching, reaching, climbing, repetitive motions, standing and moving about the entire workday.
- Heavy lifting may be required
- Long periods of walking and standing
- Ability to walk up and down several flights of stairs repeatedly
- Ability to work outdoors in extreme heat and cold
- Ability to work overtime, if needed
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Excellent customer service and oral communication skills.
- Must be at least 18 years of age and possess a valid driver’s license
- Must have reliable transportation with valid auto insurance
- Experience with operating power tools
- Experience in HVAC repair/install
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Electrical experience also desirable
